How to Clean Your Electric Toothbrush?

To maintain your electric toothbrush clean and safe, keep these recommendations in mind:

  • At home, don't keep a toothbrush in a toothbrush holder because the wet atmosphere can encourage bacteria growth. If you must frequently use a covered toothbrush holder, choose one with small openings to allow air to circulate. When you're at home, keep your toothbrush upright in a cup or toothbrush holder that allows it to air dryand has various apertures to separate multiple toothbrushes.
  • On the road, keep it covered, but not at home. When traveling, keep your toothbrush in a portable toothbrush holder rather than letting it roll around in your suitcase or toiletries bag, where dust, grime, and bacteria can collect.

Consider using a sanitizer. There are commercially marketed "toothbrush sanitizers," but there is no evidence that they are any more effective at keeping toothbrushes clean than just rinsing them with water after each use and allowing them to dry. If you wish to try a sanitizer, seek for one that has been approved by the FDA for "reducing bacterial contamination that naturally occurs on toothbrushes." Sanitizing products that make unrealistic claims should be avoided.

Putting a toothbrush in the dishwasher or microwave cycle may appear to be a reasonable and practical solution. While it is plausible that the heat and cleaning techniques utilized can kill bacteria, this is not a proven practice, and toothbrush manufacturers do not design their brushes to be used in this manner.

Electric Toothbrush Storage and Maintenance

In addition to the aforementioned recommendations, you should rinse your electric toothbrush with tap water every day after usage to remove toothpaste and debris.

Don't go overboard with the brushing. When you use too much pressure on your toothbrush, the bristles will wear out faster and become less effective at cleaning.

Allow your toothbrush to air dry by storing it upright.

  • Replace your usmile Electric Toothbrush brush head every three months. Simply remove the old brush head directly off the handle and replace it with a new brush head in the same manner.
  • If you are using the device for the first time, you should fully charge the battery before using it, which might take up to 6 hours.
  • Continue to use your electric toothbrush once the handle has been fully charged until there is no charge left (Stand by time: 180 days). Then, instead of charging between each usage, fully charge it again. This will allow your battery to work at its best for a longer period of time.
